AnyDVD HD 6.1.2.0

- New: Added support for new versions of the SONY Arccos protection to the option to remove "Protection based on unreadable Sectors"
- New: Added HD DVD and AACS support. (Registered users need an upgrade key, currently only available to registered beta testers)
- Fix: Problem with multi-angle titles and Sony Arccos protection
- Some minor fixes and improvements

It's BETA but still, this is the thing everyone is waiting for. No need for a HDCP video card or monitor. Those of you lucky enough to have a HD DVD can try it out for free.

that is actually kinda wrong... here is what a SlySoft Team Member had to say about it:

No, now please, don't get too excited about that processing key - there is being much fuss made about it, I don't really understand why. AnyDVD HD is not using this key, BTW.

The processing key still will not decrypt all HD-DVDs by itself. Another information is required: the Volume-ID. This still either has to be fetched out of the memory of some weakly programmed HDDVD-software or read directly from the drive. The drive will only reveal it with proper authentication - and for that you need a Player-Key (often confused with the device key, but they are two distinct secrets).

Also: this processing key will most certainly only work with HD-DVDs mastered with an MKB version 1. As soon as any device gets revoked, the MKB version will change and a different processing key will be valid.

The way I see it, the processing key didn't bring them much closer to their final goal. Previously, you had to fumble VUKs out of WinDVDs memory, now it's the Volume ID - admittedly, a little easier to identify, as it always starts with 0x40 00. When WinDVDs keys get revoked, you can bet on Intervideo not being so stupid to leave this hole open.

Sad thing: we already had the whole AACS done, when the boys from doom9 were still gathering title-keys from WinDVDs memory - but they're getting all the press... (hey, no offence, guys, you're doing the right thing :))

so basically, I can just use a Xbox360 HD DVD drive to my computer and use AnyDVD HD to extract the content to my hard drive so I can watch it anytime or on device (mainly monitor) without HDCP??

if so, I might go get a Xbox360 HD DVD drive and start my own HD DVD collection and a couple new HDD too I guess.......

already got a nice movie collection in my HTPC, and would like to add HD movie collection too! once you've seen the HD movie (mine is blueray from PS3), you'll never wanna go back to DVDs!!

going to watch The Departed blueray now...... :D

I can't see why not... I mean all the protection will be stripped...?

EDIT: I think you need to be a beta tester to actually be able to copy the data to your HD becuase you need the upgrade key.

LandShark, a slysoft team member just confirmed that you DO NOT need a HDCP video card or monitor to watch HD DVD's. You can copy the movie to your HD or just run it without copying, it doesn't matter.

I've been happily using AnyDVD for months now and it's great. I'm a little annoyed that Slysoft wants you to buy an upgrade key to use the HD capabilities - it's the same file and software as regular AnyDVD, after all, just now I guess the HD features cost extra.
...But I'd be even more annoyed if I actually had an HD drive. :p

ok, could anyone point me to a "how-to" adding a HD Drive to the PC and using AnyDVD HD to watch HD DVD movie?? is using the Xbox360's HD Drive the cheapest way to add HD drive to PC??

or better yet, is there any "how-to" guide to rip the HD movie (that I bought, of course!) to my hard drive so I can start a HD collection for my home media?? (if I could, I'll go buy a 500GB hdd for it to start)

I read a hd-dvd review the the other day and the guy was using a xbox360 drive. He was running Vista and just had to plug the drive in to a usb port. Vista picked it right up and all was good. Not sure if that way would work with XP or MCE tho.

Here a guy talks about how to get the drive (http://uneasysilence.com/archive/2006/11/8303/) to work with xp. Here (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360hddvdplayer/download.htm?WText.camp=Support&WText.campSrc=RSS) is another one.

the best place to look would be avsforums.com, there is no guide but there is this one thread that's like 1,000 pages of what others did to get it working.

tks guys! will look into it. I really want to add HD DVD capacity to my HTPC! especially there's a few HD movies that is only release in HD DVD format, not Blueray!!

if I do it, will sure to report back in here! ;)
