laggy movies

As some of you know, I use my main rig as my HTPC. When I play a DVD, it lags and the picture isnt good when I go to full screen. Is that just something im just going to have to deal with or can I fix it?

Also, if I output to my standard TV(using component or svideo) will it look bad in movies?

are you using the ati decoder ?

I found ATI's play back with ati decoder thru WMP was freaking awesome.

ok, ive run into some new problems. When I run on component out, movies dont look like they are running as smooth. Is this normal?
