Hi everyone,

This CRT I bummed off a friend has been sitting above my garage for a few weeks, most of the time in sub-freezing temperatures, and a few days ago was in -2*F temperatures.

Is there any danger to the CRT, or any damage that could be done by letting this happen? I'm hoping to actually use it sooner or later.

There shouldn't be any danger, unless the temperature gets extremely cold and cracks the glass. If you check out the wiki on CRTs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathode_ray_tube), there isn't any components in which cold would damage. The color may be a bit off if you don't let it warm up first, though.

The tv I bring to college sits in my cold garage for a few months when I'm on co-op. It's a 27" CRT flat screen, and nothing has happened to it yet. I would probably just let it warm up a bit inside your house before you use it.
