Right now I'm trying to decide which card to go with. I've been looking hard at the X-Mystique as well as the X-Plosion. I'll be using a Philips FR965 reciever. I'm looking to watch movies, listen to MP3s and game in 5.1. Both seem like darn good cards and not really sure which to get.

Edit I've also looked at the Bluegears b-Enspirer as well.

The Xplosion has DTS interative and DDL, while the Mystique only has DDL, IIRC.

I forgot to ask, does SNR mean anything on a sound card. I was trying to find the SNR of the AuzenTech cards and had no luck.

the X-Plosion use a newer CMedia chipset and also support DTS-Connect. however, IF you have no preference of using either DDLive or DTSConnect, and price could be a factor, then you can't go wrong with either one.

I have no prob say getting the Bluegears b-Enspirer , which cost more then the other two. I just don't want to make the wrong choice. When it comes to gaming I would have no prob getting a sound card, however it seems a little harder for HTPCs.

I would say that the X-Plosion is the best buy of the bunch, almost all the same features as the B-Enspirer, but costs less, and works like a charm :D

Go with the bluegears, as it has the newer C-Media CMI8788 (same chip in the new x-meridian)

the xplosion is using the older C-Media CMI8770

If you get the X-Plosion you will not be disapointed.

I have it and am now in the process of getting a reciever and 6.1 setup with it for DTS.
