Dell 2407WFP can't do HDCP @ 1080p?

So I was reading somewhere and found that 2407WFP won't do HDCP higher than 720p?

Can anyone confirm? Was considering this monitor to connect with a PS3 later so it would be ideal if it does HDCP at 1080p.

2407 should be able to do it...its got the resolution and it relies on the ur gpu for graphics output so I dont see why. The actual monitor is basically ur display with no fancy tech inside...just a hdcp-chip taking care of HD content. Ur gpu has do to all the work...or in this case the ps3.

I might be wrong...if I am...oh well...live and learn I guess.

Has anyone tested it out? 2407 + ps3?

older 2407WFP rev's dont work with the PS3, newer ones do what rev do you have

To clear this up , 2407 is NOT HDCP compliant on 1080p simple as that, it will however do 1080p. Just pray they never start using it, which I don't believe they'll ever will unless the new formats are hacked then you can bet your life on it.

I have A02..... Was this fixed with A03? If it was i'm going to call and demand a new one right now.....

Thats strange then. If i set my cable box to do 1080i and hood it up with the dvi, it just says signal is out of range. 1080p coing out of my roomates xbox over vga does work though.

Do you know what they changed in A04 now?

A04 fixes poor component quality, and accepts 1080P via component.

They have also switched the panel to AU Optronics, the same one used in the FP241W.

To be released June 07.

I've been SO fed up with the quality of the component inputs on this thing.

Going to demand a new one....

edit....dell is beaig an idiot. Combined 2 hours on the phone with them so far...no a04 yet....

OK, they had no idea what 1080p meant, nor what a component input was. I kept talking to people higher up, and each was as dumb as the last.

Finally, one guy let me return this 2407 for a full refund, and i'll reorder another, unless i feel like splurging on the 3007 :)

Not strange because over dvi it doesnt accept 1080i, and yep now im damn ****ed myself about this 04 business.
