does anyone know where i would be able to get a video splitter that actually splits the signal from the computer to the monitor and not duplicate the screen onto different monitors? so that i could watch my desktop across at least 3, preferably 4 different monitors.
also if i run out of options would a seperate PCI card work for this?
thanks

I have never seen a splitter that would display your screen across more than one. However, you can have as many displays as you have connectors on your computer. Just for fun one time I set up a computer with a dual head video card and 5 pci video cards for a total of 7 displays. Windows is pretty good at managing this through display properties.

the matrox triplehead2go can do that but when it costs that much I couldnt justify it for most people. Your best bet is just to get a seperate pci gfx card. The only real advantage of the matrox triplehead2go, besides not needing multiple cards, is that you can play games on more then one monitor.

Last I saw the triplehead2go costs around 300 bucks. Also most video cards cant drive that kind of resolution, in 3d apps which is the units only advantage, anyways.

I think to do that, you would have to use multiple video cards. It is relatively easy to do, just get yourself at least 2 vid cards that both have 2 outputs. THen you connect each display and setup the drivers to "span" the display across the displays.
I think Matrox makes a vid card that will do like 3 or 4 displays.
EDIT: BTW, you should really just pick ONE section and post there, not multiple (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?p=4795927#post4795927).
