Hey everyone,

Just got about $750 for selling my OSU/Michigan ticket (I know... sacriligous!) but I have been wanting to get an HDTV for my apartment now for a little bit.

The entertainment center that is built into our apartment has a maximum width of 46'' (my housemate has a 50'' DLP and it fits perfectly) so that pretty much shows the maximum that could fit.

But back on topic, what do you think would be the best place to shop and if you have any preferences. I plan to obviously watch movies, play games (going to get a Wii this Sunday -- I know it handles a max of 480p for now), and of course watch HDTV.

Any recommendations would be great, even if it is another place to ask this question.

I saw that 52'' panasonic on BF, I believe that is from Circuit City. Sadly the 52'' is 2 inches too wide to fit into the entertainment center (needs to be <46'' and the tv is 48.5'' :-()

Olevia LCD's have highest rating for budget HDTV panels. I have 37" LCD and it blows out most of the high end panels when it comes to picture quality, input compatibility and specs.

If I were you I'd go with their new 37" LCD model (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16889022029) which goes for $999.

thanks for the info. I was doing some searching today (slickdeals forums, blackfriday ads) and have come down to olevia and westinghouse because they tend to make some good budget hdtvs.

If you live near a Microcenter, that 37" olevia dragon linked to will be only 500 bucks on BF

I'm sure the earlier the better. I've never really had a desire to camp out for BF, which explains why I've never got anything good, but I bet people will start getting out to places around 4-6 am. It's really hard to tell how early people will start to line up for your store or if they'll be going for your TV either.

Best of luck, and do take pics of the TV (and the camping line if you are really bored while waiting :p).

The 37'' model that RDXXX posted was not actually the one on sale from Microcenter, it was the 337H -- technically a LCD monitor not a TV.

Thanks for the help though, I may get the 532H which is the 32'' LCD HDTV etc.
