How well is this feature? Im interested in getting a new digicamcorder and this Nightshot seems like it would be great for me. No longer needing to sign out NV scopes from my supply sergeant to video my unit at night (have to hold camera AND scope is annoying)

So whats the word on this feature? Do any other camera brands offer something similiar? Thanks.

me and my friend both own sony video cameras. the nightshot was a big plus when i bought it. it works pretty well, but you need some light to use it. im not sure of other cameras that have it, but im sure theres a few out there.

It has a green colour. Panasonic's version is black and white (which looks nicer quite frankly).

They have their own IR LEDs pointing out the front so can work in zero lux conditions usually. But this relies on those LED's so close ups unless there's moonlight. Best to fix the focus as well otherwise it jumps all over the place.

I have a JVC and it is a piece of garbage. I was looking into the nightshot on the sonys and ive read only good things about them. I think they are worth the money.
