Video Transfer: Quality of Firewire vs. USB?

Is there any significant difference in the quality of using firewire as opposed to USB 2.0? Does one suffer from latency more than the other? Any other things I should know?

I use firewire for both video and iPod. Firewire 400 is way faster than usb2.0 for some reason even though it isn't supposed to be :shrug:

from what i've read, firewire 400 has better sustained rates while usb 2.0 has better burst rates, but overall is slower.
