I am looking to get one of these LCD monitors. Looking for some help from those of you who have either of them.

Anybody know of any comparison reviews? Any experience, good or bad, with either?

The Samsung costs about 20% more.

Thanks! Only thing that makes me wonder about the Viewsonic is the 16ms white-black-white time.

Try to find the 205BW Samsung. It's height adjustable as well as pivot, and widescreen. 6ms typ.

I ordered the Viewsonic 2025WM from the Egg. $343 delivered. Time to cross my fingers. I'll let you know.

Thanks for the help!

Let us know if it's fast enough...I need to see one in person for the speed.

I got mine and don't see any ghosting. See the Review thread for more details.

Wondering why you wont like the 204B? Looks good.

I have a question since you've got one at hand. Suppose I want to play a game at 1280x1024 (like AoE3 because my graphics card -7900GT- probably can't keep up at 1600x1200) is it possible to make the monitor only display 1280x1024 pixels and leave a black border around so that you don't have to deal with the up-scale effect? Especially since 1280x1024 isnt the same aspect ratio as 1600x1200

Thanks!

well i have a really bad swoop effect on my monitor, on the top from left to right. and its nowhere near as straight as it should be when using dvi.

as for the up-scale effect, you need to change that option inside the nvidia control panel, its under device option seen on this picture linked

Wow. It's that bad, huh? Were you just unlucky or do you think they're all like that?

On Newegg the 204B-Black has great reviews... and I'd really like to get one to make the jump from CRT to LCD. I've been waiting to find a 19-20" 1600x1200 LCD with good response times and this one looks like it will be perfect. But, if you're saying that it's a crummy LCD then I guess I'm stuck with CRT. The trouble is not many companies make 1600x1200 LCDs and new ones don't come out very often...

I wonder if a new 204 is due out soon....

Damn it I wanted the 204B-Black to get good!!

i have both the benq fp202w and the samsung 205bw. I like the samsung more because of clearer and brighter displays. one thing i dislike the samsung is that the red color tends to over saturate a little. other than that, samsung > benq
