i was talking to my dad the other day (i come from a long line of nerds) he told me about the people at the rendering department (he is an architect and needs lots of rendering work done) they mentioned something about changing resisters and caps to make a humble user level GPU into a rather grunty quadro. i was wondering if there was any truth to this and if anyone knows how to do this.
any information appreciated.

I know this could be done on the old GeForces, not sure about the new ones.

do you know which old ones?
(we have a huge pile of old nvidia cards found on naturestrips, we even found an asylum mx420! that worked)

no, but I'm pretty sure the GeForce 2's worked.
