View Full Version : Widescreen 19 Inch Monitor and Video Card Setting
I'm considering buying a 19 inch widescreen LCD monitor which has a max & recommended resolution of 1440 x 900. I have a Nvidia GEForce 6600GT which doesn't have a display resolution of 1440 X 900 but has a 1360 x 768. Which this card work ok with this monitor?
Your 6600GT will indeed display 1440x900. It will not show as a choice because your current monitor does not list it as a supported mode. You can define a cutom resolution of 1440x900, and once you hook up the 1440x900 LCD you won't even have to. It will be the top slider position on the resolution setting in display properties once the monitor is correctly detected by the OS.
Thanks for the quick response. That's what I was hoping to hear. :)
my 7800gs didnt display 1440 x 900 , but after i hooked up the monitor it displayed it nad works fine :)

yeh most cards will addapt to the monitor that you have pluged in, such as plug in a monitor that can only go 800x600 (if they exist) it will not allow you to go any higher, or that is what mine does. :D
What make 19" lcd are you getting i am also thinking about getting one :D
