So is there anything I can do about dead pixels?

I'm about to pull the trigger on a VX922 from NewEgg. What if I get 1 dead pixel and the thing's bright red, right in the middle? Am I just hosed?

And yeah...that's a tough thing to deal with....I'm not sure what I'd do...I certainly wouldn't be satisfied if I got a stuck/dead pixel. Maybe cause a power surge and kill it, then RMA? :) :)

I guess I understand Newegg's policy, a lot of LCD's can have a dead pixel or two...and that would make for a heck of a lot of returns on their part. But goodness...if I'm paying $200-$300....or like my monitor $850
When I called Dell to order mine, I specifically asked about dead pixels and she told me each one is checked and guaranteed to not have a dead/stuck pixel....so I was quite releived about that one. But yeah.....

Dell, they will not take a monitor back if it has less than 5 or 6 deal/stuck pixels. I had about four 2005fpw's. 3 of them had dead/stuck pixel problems.

It's flippin beautiful.

No dead pixels and bright as hell.
Everything I hoped it would be.

We sell viewsonics at my work and we hardly see a dead pixel.

for buying at the Egg it's just a matter of luck i guess.

I just bought a 17" Viewsonic from there for a friend and worried slightly about it...but it came perfect. But like I said, I'm not sure what I'd do if I did get one that had a bad pixel. Cause I'm the type of person that would stew over it and it would become the Bane of my computing life..then I would turn to a life of crime and drugs. And all because newegg won't accept less than 8! Darn them!

Not if you start using Dell coupons and stack them to get the best price. As much as I like Newegg, they don't allow stacked coupons like Dell ;)

I'd really recommend dell just for the easy and peace of mind I got when purchasing my monitor. I'm not sure if they'd guarantee a monitor that wasn't made by them...but it's worth a try in asking!

EDIT: ...By guarantee I mean the no dead pixels

You actually can buy them on ebay. Or gottadeal.com, but the coupons that you can apply to monitors have been very seldom over the last 6 months.
