Hello everyone, as always I'm learning something new. I recently aquired a HP 17" CRT monitor (flatscreen, quite pretty). When turned on the picture was crisp and clear, for about 5 minutes. Then the picture started to get wiggly (tech term here) and then white smoke. I just now pulled it apart, and have found 1 bulging electrolytic cap, and 3 unknown shrivled parts. They look like capacitors, but I cannot find any ratings on them besides part numbers that haven't yielded any results when I was searching.

If pictures are down, it'll just be temporarily.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide me. By the way, the monitor no longer powers on, but I can hear something ticking (about half-second intervals) from the powersupply area.

Be careful, the big caps in those monitors can be quite dangerous. If you can get specs for the missing caps, you should be able to replace them (but make sure they are drained before messing with them, they really can do serious damage to you).

Thanks for the warning, but I'm very careful. I always discharge capacitors before working on something. Well those components turned out to be enamel coated inductors. There is one bad capacitor, but other than that I can't find any physical damage.
