Screen size set to 85" right now @ 1024 X 768. along with the big 5.1 stereo, gaming has never been so cool! haha.
The lights in the room were on full brightness also but the camera dimmed it down because of the light from the wall lol.
It's a lower end unit i guess. Acer PD525. Unbelievable how bright it is.
Heres a Canadian link to it, $1000.

That is so awesome! I'd love to play some games on a huge projector like that. :D

not bad for only 1000 CAN. I'm debating whether or not to go DLP or projector...I want 720p atleast though...1080p preferably...so for a projector to come into my range with 1080p that'll be like 5 years from now :/

Only way to get a high resolution projector right now for cheap is to build your own, a 1027x768 res projector would cost about $200-$400 to construct. Basically all you need is an overhead an an LCD of an appropriate size that displays the resolution you want. Then you take the back light off and mount it over the overhead.

1080P is overkill for a projector. (or just about any display used a long distance.) First of all, there aren't many 1080p sources. The only one I can think of would be a pc and possibly the PS3. 720P is more than sufficient, especialy when your sitting 10' away or so.

I've seen a few how-to sites about this. This one (http://www.louisville.edu/~wchall01/diyprojector/howto.htm) is pretty comprehensive.
Not for me, however. I can just imagine lugging an overhead and ancillary support materials through the airport on my way to a meeting :p
I'm pretty fond of the Viewsonic line (http://www.mwave.com/mwave/ViewProducts.hmx?PID=PRO-VIEW&updepts=LCD&DNAME=Projectors). Reliable, very affordable, and lightweight. I use my PJ406D for weekly meetings, Big-screen DVD and just about anything else you could imagine. At 4.5 lbs and 9.4 in x 8.3 in x 3.8 in it's no problem to carry...
LOL I got it up to 112" now, i'll have to update the pic. This is big as I can go with all the speakers here. The resolution is set to 1152 X 864 now.

wow lucky, you just reignited my quest for the projectors through the light things or w/e
Heres the 112"... I have to get rid of the stereo to go any bigger as you can see, but thats certainly not going to happen! lol.

You bet! It is HD so the text is perfect. :pPretty sure that 1024x768=enhanced definition, i may be be wrong but that's not important, what is important is that you like your projector and are satisfied with your purchase. Had three projectors myself, built and sold a lumenlab DIY XGA projector, still have an infocus LP335 XGA, and am currently loving my Sanyo Z2. I had a ton of fun doing all the research and installing all of the equipment and accessories. Will soon be incorporating this hybrid Samsung TV-tuner/upscaler/switch/scan converter (http://cgi.ebay.com/samsung-tv-pc-computer-switcher-converter-tuner-PIP_W0QQitemZ9704374169QQcategoryZ73390QQssPageNam eZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) since i scored a new one for cheap locally, i have a dedicated htpc but may as well use it ey?
G'luck and enjoy your new toy :)
