How come I can't find any 4:3, 1600x1200, 19" LCD screens. They are all in this crappy 5:4 res (which I use on my current 17" LCD) which makes things a little tall in 1024x768 or 1280x960. Personally I like the 4:3 aspect so much more. My other option is to go for widescreen, but I'd have to go for a 20" and then it is stil a 16:10, where the standard in movies and games as well (it seems) is 16:9... WTF is going on in the LCD world?? Do I have to buy a 38" LCD TV to get the right aspect ratio? lol, would be nice!
See, I can't play every game in 1280x1024, So having a native res like that, really doesn't help. If I have a native 4:3 res, then all the res's would look ok, see?

Well moves on a 16:10 LCD look fine, there's just a thin black bar on top and bottom. You can get a dell 2001fp, which is a 20" 1600x1200.
Your right about 5:4 being crappy, but wrong about 16:10. Almost all PC games are 16:10 supported...a few include 16:9 also. If you only have one monitor, heck I would get a 37" LCD....there's a sceptre 37" one that does 1080p (1900x1080) for like 1400...definetly a sweet deal if you want to have one nice screen for everything.

I'm in Australia BTW. So do the currency conversion and then times by 1.4 to get the AUD cost...
So you say most games now would support one of the dell 20" widescreens? That would be cool. Althought they are $850 here. I am planning on upgrading (buying a completely new) my computer. Because at the moment I just have the fastest XP chip, and AGP video cards are getting hard to find. So I need new mobo, cpu, ram, vc, and so on. So I figured why not upgrade the 16ms 17"er... I just don't want to spend more on the screen then on the other parts for an upgrade...

I can see where your coming from, but if you think about it, if you bought a 20" LCD....how long would you use it?
I'm big on perhipherals....I'll spend a lot on em because I know I'll have em a long time (had my Klipsch 4.1's for almost 6 years), had this 2405 a year and plan on keeping it for quite some time...
the 1920x1200 and 1680x1050 are the 2 common widescreen PC gaming reses
