Finally some progress on real info about the 2407. I'm waiting to see what the final US price will be before buying a new monitor. I know I shouldn't, but I'd almost buy this one just because the stand looks so much better than the 2405. You are, after all, probably buying this monitor for looks anyways. Now we've just got to see what the price here will be, and perhaps some discounts which most of their monitors have.
I'm going to wait til Conroe when I will have a comp that can actually run at that res.
this might be my first lcd :)

That's a lot of monitor for the price. I wonder how much it will get jacket up for the US?
Still holding out for SED....
I wish they'd do a higher DPI....I want more resolution, I have 1900x1200 on a 15.4 inch, scale that to 24 inch and I'd be happy

It shouldnt be too much more than the 2405 which goes for about 800 at costco.com right now. As I see it (IMO) , HDCP isnt really a feature its more of a tool that enables others to determine what we can and cant do with our stuff. :(

Sweet! DVI, Component, S-video... looks like I found my LCD TV! =D
Sure glad they decided to keep the usb ports and card reader. That was the deciding factor for me when i got the 2405.

While I'd like to see that too (I have a laptop with a 14" screen at 1400x1050 and love it), most people dont want it that high, or don't have the hardware to use it at that res. So it would be dumb of them to do that.

Ditto.

How I see it too. Depsite the issues with piracy, HDCP is really a convoluted solution that only benefits manufacturers and not consumers.
This Dell LCD is very nice though. However, the whole upgrade process is a bit too pricey for me unless I stop gaming. ;)

HDCP....That should be a new four letter word...
I like the new stand design they have come up with. Also, the specs don't look too shabby either. Hopefully it won't cost an arm and a leg.
I hate my 17" CRT. :(

I just want this thing released already. So many rumors around this thing, and even some european sites claiming that the monitor has already been released in the US. I hope this is priced close to the current 2405 though. I doubt I'll pay $400 more for a new stand and an un-usable video format; $1000 pricetag would seem reasonable.

I really dont see the 2407 being worth that much more than the 2405. I was under the impression that they were going to release the 7 series as a complete replacement for their counterparts at the same pricepoint. If the 2407 costs hundreds more, I'll be disappointed and just pick up another 05
