View Full Version : acer f-20 ferrari widescreen
Is Acer's 20" lcd widescreen monitor worth the price?
AcerŪ Ferrari F-20, 20in Digital Active Matrix TFT Wide-Screen LCD/TV (Retail Box), Black/Red (http://www.pccanada.com/viewitem.asp?id=4250)
No IMHO
Doesn't $700 seem outreageous for a 20"?

I was looking for an F-19 (19") model a month ago and the cheapest I could find it was $450+ It's a nice monitor but not worth it until it comes down in price. It's obvious you are paying for the logo.

The only thing with a Ferrari label worth the price is a Ferrari.

That price is in CAN and not USD. With conversion it works out to be about $580-590 which is still a little high I guess for the size of the monitor but damn that paint is sexy.
Also it does come with a built-in TV tuner. Plus us Canuks have a hard time scoring those sweet Dell deals.
I think it's *#$$-ugly
I like my tft's with as little surrounding the screen as possible. My Neovo has edges of barely 1.5cm.
I'm getting mine Monday...
Just get a regular LCD, and mod it to look like that, duh!
hmm since it has a tuner built in the price ISNT soo bad
but id wrather pay $400 for a dell and then $75 for a hauppage pvr-250 or so :)

I'd take this over Dell's 21" widescreen any time a day, plus they got them at Egg for $580.

id rather have a scepter 20.5 inch widescreen for $350 and spend the other $230 on a tv tuner, extra sata hdd, and lunch :D

also im thinking
2x20inch widescreen or dell 24 inch widescreen
what do you guys think
it's exactly the same monitor, except with no Ferrari logos.
it'll cost approximately 60 bucks less.
im sorry...but does this company have anything to do with the car company...?
..i feel stupid :-/

It's called ''Marketing'' used to get ''#&*@ People'' buy things they actually don't need or have use for. That's how capitalism works.

Do remember that a widescreen 20 inch isn't as big as a 4:3 20 inch, it's more like a 17 inch with extra width.
4:3 20 inch = 16 inches across top, 12 inches high = 192sqin
16:9 20 inch = 17.4 inches across 9.8 inches high = 170.5sqin
4:3 17 inch = 10.2 inches high.
