This is the first time I've encountered this one and am hoping someone can help. the rig is:
P4C800dlx, Intel 2.4 g, 512 corsair pc3200 memory and an EVGa mx-4000 GPU. I assembled the unit and loaded Windows, software etc. connected to a NEC 1980sx lcd monitor. Completed assembled and configured I took over to the clients house and hooked it up. They have a KDS kXs7 monitor and everytime Windows loads, the monitor shuts down and announces it's going into power saving mode. If I unistall the GPU drivers, it boots and runs no probs. I've tried a driver from every nVdia series back to the 50's including the one shipped with the card and the results are the same. I tried to load the KDS driver for that monitor but it won't allow me until i install the gpu driver; I can't install the gpu driver cause then i can't see the screen. Yes i loaded the driver and then booted in safe mode but since the drivers didn't load, I still can't update the monitor driver.
Need some help here guys. I know it's got to be a simple setting but I'm stumped.

have you tried booting into VGA mode after the drivers have been loaded? It sounds like a refresh rate problem with Windows.

I saw that option on the F5 list. Think that'll do it? I also found a setting on the monitor for temp set @ 9500 with an option of 'auto', I wondered if that might do it. But I'll try VGA mode. It's been sooo long since I worked with a CRT.
Thanks for the suggestion.
