display trouble

I recently bought an ati radeon 9250 for a Windows XP comp. But, after I attempted to install it, and I plugged the monitor into it everything opens outside the display area. I've already downloaded the latest drivers, and disabled my old video card. The system requirments are okay too.
Can I get some help?

check to make sure you have one monitor set up. under display settings, you should see 1 and 2 for monitors, make sure 1 is the primary monitor and 2 is kinda blurry and hit being used.
