just got my 37inch lcd

i just upgraded from a 27inch lcd to a 37inch lcd, the syntax olevia brand. My old moniter had DVI input, the new one has HDMI. I bought a DVI to HDMI converter cable , and when i plug my computer into it via the cable i get signal according the the moniter, but nothing shows up, what do i need to do to make the HDMI input work with my computer? I cant stand this grainy VGA input!

You're going to have to configure output accordingly. I'm not familar with the ATI set up, being an nVidia guy, but the fellows here (http://htpcnews.com/forums/index.php?act=idx) can help with the set up.
