Monitor #1 ($449.99 CAD) (http://accessories.dell.com/sna/ProductDetail.aspx?sku=320-4113&c=ca&l=en&cs=CADHS1&category_id=211&first=true&page=productlisting.aspx)

Monitor #2 (399.99 CAD) (http://accessories.dell.com/sna/ProductDetail.aspx?sku=320-4426&c=ca&l=en&cs=CADHS1&category_id=211&first=true&page=productlisting.aspx)

They're both on sale from Dell and they're better than any deals that I can get around here locally. I'm not looking for anything crazy as I only use my computer for school.

Anyways, from what I can tell:

- They're both rated up to 1280x1024 pixels
- Monitor #1 has a response time of 20ms (Uggh... I sometimes play CS)
- Monitor #2 has a response time of 8ms
- Monitor #1 has a contrast ratio of 800:1
- Monitor #2 has a contrast ratio of 500:1
- Monitor #1 has some fancy option of a more "stable" base and four USB Ports

I'm thinking about going with monitor #2 because of the lower response time.. and plus, I don't feel $40 isn't worth the difference.

Suggestions?

I like #2 and 20ms sounds way too high, especially sense you play CS sometimes.

Well if you're going to play CS monitor #2 for sure. Monitor #1 would be better if your school work involved a lot of photoshop or graphic design work. Especially since monitor #1 has 16.7 million colors while monitor #2 doesn't say, which means I'm going to assume 16.2 million (at least I think the next down is 16.2). So movies would look better on #1, especially blue colors as I think that's what is skimped on. So colors would look better on #1.

So basically, unless you need a lot of detail and richer color, at the expense of gaming, go with the second one.

Also, that's a $50 difference.

Definately go for the lower response time.It will be easier on your eyes, and your games will look better.Forget about the USB ports---you can buy a USB hub or USB bay-mounted solution for cheap.Heck, you probably have a friend who can give you a free internal USB adapter, since theyare usually sent with new mobos anyway.I got my 4-port USB hub for $4 at Office max--so dont factor the USB ports into buying a monitor.Chances are, also, that the monitor with the lower response time will support future technology more than the other monitor.

BTW...if your willing to spend that much on your monitor, why not spend the extra cash for the 2005fpw? It seems to be well-worth the extra money, and have recieved MANY editors choice awards.MANY.The 2005fpw looks absolutely gorgeous when I watch an ATI demo on it last week.In the last 6 weeks, I have seen the 2005fpw aas low as $342 if you find a coupon online to use.Thats what I am holding out for to replace my Viewsonice AF90+ 19" CRT.
