I wanna get a new Abit TH7-II motherboard, but apparently some of the early boards had a few bugs. Has anyone heard if Abit has got these early teething problems fixed yet? Is there a new version of the board out yet? With the new P-4 price cuts announced to go into effect November 1st, I'm ready to put a P-4 system together.

It's still quirky to say the least. The lock on cold boot when either agp/pci "fix" or agp/pci "2/3" is enabled has not been fixed  Abit it telling people to set memory to 3x. Yeah right, who wants to do that  The HP controller craps out at high pci speed, my cpu will do 2.1 Ghz+ all day long, but 41.3 Mhz+ pci speed isn't exactly doing wonders for my pci cards. If I were to buy today, I'd get the Asus P4T-E instead. I also have a Promise Fasttrak raid controller, and I'm not overly impressed with the onboard HP controller.

I have overclocked quite a few systems over the years, and I've had to reset the bios more times with this board alone, than any of the others put together over an 8-10 year period. That ought to give you an idea :( :(

Oh guano, this is not what I wanted to hear. Anyone else have comments or insight they'd like to share? BTW, I've heard that those Asus P4T boards are buggy too.

***bump back to the top***

I hear that people either have no problems with the Abit TH7-II or they have lots of problems. Anymore comments?

I have one, and the fix to 66 setting does not work.

I have a P4 1.7 that will easily do 2.0 or more, but the PCI/AGP bus is too damn high.

Man......I am so mad a ABIT right now, I could spit.

The fact that they deny there is a problem is enough to make me change my exclusivity of ABIT boards.

If they don't fix it soon, I will switch to ASUS or MSI, and never come back to ABIT.

The least they could do is admit there is a problem, and they are working on it.......even if it's a lie, I would feel better :(

Anyone see anything on this one..........http://www.msicomputer.com/product/detail_spec/850Pro5.htm
