This thing is bad ass.

Lets start off right. I've never had an LCD, only CRT's. My latest and greatest was a Viewsonic A90F+ 19" Flat screen. It was badass too, but at higher resolutions for making maps (GIS), my eyes died.

Read around a bit, decided on this. Ordered yesterday at 3pm CST...
$335 shipped FedEx overnight (it was only $15 more for overnight... this dude was in my hands in 25 hours, yay newegg!)
- $30 MIR (newegg rebate, mailing off tomorrow)
- $100 (selling old monitor to my dad to offset cost)
= $205

Setup was a breeze... base just clips on. It was packaged beautifully.
Included:
Regular D-sub cable
DVI cable
Power cable
A CD, a couple booklets

So I fire everything up (using the included DVI cable), and right off the bat it turns on. Everything is crisp. I go into device manager and update the driver on "Plug n Play monitor", pointing to the CD... now it reads it as what it is.

Native res is 1280x1024. I'm doing that @ 75hz (though I heard that doesn't even matter on LCD's, but I'm a newb who likes my placebo FX.) If you're a gamer, be sure that your current card runs whatever game you like @ 1280x1024 before you buy an LCD... if you don't run at native res it won't look it's best.

I only play AOE3 and DoD:Source... and both are perfect. Equal to or better than the CRT. No ghosting. Flawless. Gorgeous. DVI mind you, analog mileage may vary.

Back to windows, it looks stunning. Text is crystal clear. I have cleartype powertoy which makes it even better. The monitor is further away from my face and looks clearer than my CRT. I can't say enough about the text/desktop improvement over the CRT.

My only complaint is the benq emblem in the bottom left is a little too big. Seriously. That's it. No dead pixels (thank god, i was so nervous/scared). I haven't even brought up the OSD yet... I haven't found anything I would like to change. Everything is beautiful by default.

I apologize, I have no digital camera, so I can't post pics. But this thing is gorgeous and matches my black antec case nicely. I'm so happy. :D :D :D

I am a faithfull CRT user but I always like reading about people who end up loving their LCD's. I shall have to make the switch eventually.

Could you inform me about cleartype powertoy please? Sounds interesting.

I actually used that on my CRT too... works nice. It's supposedly for all flat screen monitors, LCD or CRT. And I was a faithful CRT person too... But that CRT was 50 pounds and half of my desk :( Not good for a dorm room :D

I just got this monitor as well, mine came in Thursday. I love everything about it. I got mine from newegg for $300-$20Instant-$30MIR=$250. I highly reccomend you all get this monitor, looks to be the next big monitor that everybody will want. It has been getting great reviews and the reviews are growing very fast.

I recieved this same monitor from newegg on wednesday, and I must say that I am impressed. No dead pixels, color is fantastic, no ghosting, and text is razor sharp. Went from monitor in sig. But of course you all know what happens when you get one new addition, the dreaded "upgrade fever". New pci-e mb, cpu, vc, mem, and hard drives to be delivered mon. :)

Definitely upgrade fever. Now that I have all this desk space, I'm looking into a black wireless keyboard/mouse combo... Then some Klipsch promedia 2.1's.... just a downward spiral!

This looks......... awesome.

Does anyone have this and a more known monitor like a 2001 or L90 to compare to? This monitor makes me wonder why I don't have dual monitors!

Got this LCD for Christmas...my first LCD! This is thing is NICE. I'm coming from a 17" Gateway VX700 (pretty nice monitor back in '98). I'm not sure how you'd go about finding dead pixels but this monitor is awesome, no complaints here. Thanks to you guys for recommending this bad boy.

Now all I have to do is upgrade my video card (64mb Geforce2 Ti, yeah I know) so I can play my games again. :)

Btw, Newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824014090) now (ends the 29th) has this monitor for $250 after rebate....sweet deal!

Are you using the DVI connection on yours? Just curious because I'm using the VGA connection because of my old video card. Since I'm about to upgrade my video card, I'll be using the DVI. Will I see any improvement with the DVI?

I never used this monitor with VGA, so I couldn't tell you about that.
