I am looking into getting my father a cheap LCD. He really doesn't have a particular budget, but hes a cheap-*ss and the cheaper the better. I think he wanted something in the $200-250 range. He only does web-browsing (he got internet for the first time about a week ago  )and movies/music on his pc. So, he does not need low response time, or anything like that. I just don't want something that will die within a few weeks.

I was looking at these cheapo's:

What say you? How are these bottom-of-the-bin 19" LCD's? Should we spend a bit more?

Maybe this? I've always like Viewsonic's LCD's.

I love my Acer LCD specifically the AL1715, only 17" but its great, cost me only 250.

I was looking at the power consumption on the LCD's listed above, and the Viewsonic uses the least of them all, less than half of some of them. The Dell also uses much less power. Does this have any significance?
