DELL 2005FPW 20.1" Widescreen

I'm considering getting a DELL 2005FPW 20.1" Widescreen.
But I am worried about it's responce rate for gaming. I found two different figures: 16ms and 12ms.. this has me worried.. 16ms seems too slow... and 12ms the limit...

Anyone have experiance with this dell screen?

Or should I spend a little more and get a Gateway FPD2185W?

You should look through the forum a little more. There are a lot of posts on this monitor.

There are a lot of 2005FPW owners on the forum, and all of them seem to find it satisfactory for gaming, so I don't think you have anything to worry about with the response times.

I have played CoD and HL2 on this monitor and it seems fine to me. Although, I am not the biggest gamer in the world. I am VERY happy with the $400 I spent on this monitor.

I had the 2005FPW and sent it back. I hated it. The picture would be purpleish unless you were directly in front of it. And I noticed a lot of blurring during gaming. I guess it varies from person to person if its fast enough, but it didnt cut it for me.

I am quite satisfied with my 2005fpw. I have not noticed any blurring, and the image is very sharp. I don't know much about that gateway, though, so I can't help you there.

I game a ton on my 2005FPW and I have no complaints. Back when they were first introduced, I guess there were frequent problems with the LCD quality in terms of backlight bleeding and viewing angle problems. From the looks of things, they seem to have addressed the problems.

I am quite happy with my screen.
