I recently dove into the LCD world (And watercooling as well) and am a big fan of bang for the buck/cheap but good kinda things. So after much questing for a good, but not too expensive, gaming 19" LCD I found myself at a conundrum.
You see, I do alot of research on things as of late, and what I've found were many LCD's had alot of features. However, some LCD's had very few. Take the Samsung 915-N (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824001185) for instance. Great monitor, great price, excellent response times, but no DVI. Hmm.. I was looking forward to using my DVI port for once.
Ok, how about the Hyundai L90D+ (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824179014) all the wonderful features you could want, but horrible reviews (as of lately) and poor customer service. Not good considering I live in Alaska and hate to ship things out to get repaired!
Well what about the Viewsonic VX924 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824116355)? Well, there's nothing wrong with this monitor that I have seen. But with all of my browsing.. I came across the Benq FP91G+ (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824014090) that seemed to have all of the options at a bit less of a price.
So.. after thinking about it, deciding that no one else seems to have tried the 19" version of the Benq everyone buys... I decided to take the dive. I mean, with all of the other good reviews on newegg, and the excellent reviews on various PC websites I can't be all that bad, right?
Boy was I surprised when I got it. It's hard to beat, Good price, great image quality, all the options AND its huge! No dead pixels, no strange horizontal lines, no problems so far, and best of all.. no ghosting in Any game I've yet to play. CS:Source, BF2, Halflife, Doom3, WoW, Everquest... all look excellent and run perfect.
All of this, for $299 + $30 mail in rebate. You can't go wrong!
So, I bet you're asking yourself.. whats the downside? Why hasnt anyone bought this thing? Well... It's short. It has no physical adjustments which can be a serious problem if you dont have a 3" thick hard cover A+ Book laying around like I did. (I mean, Like I'm ever going to read that thing!) Color adjustment is a bit tricky as well, but once you get use to it it's all worth it.
So whats the whole point of this review? Well.. its just my personal opinion on the 19" monitor no one seems to be buying, and I say... It's a Great deal! Especially if you want something out of the norm, with performance to boot.
I hope this helps answer any questions people may have had about the company that came out of nowhere.
I'll post some pictures when I get home. I forgot to upload them to photobucket :bang head
