Im thinking of getting a good cheapish fast LCD 19" monitor, and of course when you throw thoughs combinations in, then Viewsonic comes to mind.

The cheapest I could find the 191b is $425 aside from ebay. And the vx924 is $389. The price of the VX924 seems great, and the response times are supposed to be superior to the 191b, even though tomshardware found otherwise. My main question is: is the extra cost of the vp191b worth it performance wise to the VX. And just to make things a little more complicated (), should I also consider the VX910 also, the cheapest of the 3. The reason im narrowed down to thoughs 3 is because they also have great looks to them, stylish and sleek.
It will be used for Gaming mostly, so that is what I am trying to base this on.
Any suggestions on other monitors is welcome as long as Ill be saving money and getting equal/or better performance than the Viewsonics. Thanks in advance.

I only have experience with the VP191b (got it last wednesday!), but I'll try to tell you a bit about it.

When I first started up my computer with this monitor I was a bit disappointed with the trails behind the mouse. After playing a game or two, and just about deciding that I could live with it, I thought "hey, maybe I'll make sure it's set to 75hz". This made a noticeable improvement.
Now the latency was still there, (this is from the perspective of someone who has never used an lcd except when working on other people's computers at work) but I decided that I could get used to it. I still notice sometimes in games like UT2004 and CS, but it doesn't bother me.

The vp191b makes games look much better than my old 19" crt, without even changing the graphics settings. The colors stand out more, and the blacks are darker.

I noticed that my windows desktop looked a little overly bright, so I turned down the contrast and brightness. This made it look better, but sometimes I need to turn it up when the sun is shining in my window. I also turn it up a bit for games.

The mechanical adjustments on this monitor are pretty good. It adjusts in every direction. The screen even rotates to portrait mode. The vertical adjustment has an excellent range. You can almost set the bottom edge on the desk, and it goes up pretty high. The vertical adjustment is a bit touchy, so you have to be a little careful to get it where you want it.

The viewing angles are good, it will look slightly washed out to someone sitting next to you (with the monitor only about two feet from my eyes).

Is the VX924 a 6bit or 8bit panel?

I found this on a german site : :bang head

Darstellbare Farben

16,2 Mio. Farben (6-Bit + 2-Bit FRC)

So that would be 6bit ! :p
