just looking for some opinions from those here who might own this monitor or have experience with it. unless i hear something horrible i will be picking one of these up in the next few days. not a single review i've read has said a negative thing about it, and i've been drooling over it sitting on the shelf at Staples (where i work) for the last 2 months or so. with my employee discount for "back to school" and a big cash card on the way from Staples, i'll be able to pick it up for about $240 before a sizeable MIR.

so again, any opinions positive or negative welcome :) just trying to get a little more info before i make my final final decision

specs for anyone interested

also, for comparison's sake, this is what i'm using now

NEC 1715 (http://www.necdisplay.com/products/ProductDetail.cfm?Product=309&ClassificationFamily=2&Classification=1)

Statistically speaking, this LCD has everything you could want. Fast response time, awesome contrast ratio, nice viewing angles (160 degrees V/H), DVI (though it doesn't come with the cord I believe), good brightness... its perfect, I've been looking at it too. However I'm still trying to figure out how FPS works before making a purchase.

But yeah, if you're getting a top-notch LCD this is prob the best one to get. Anything better would seem unnecessary (even for watching movies it should be great). Hope you're satisfied!

well i picked one up last night as i was getting off work. i only had a couple hours to play around with it, but i have to say it is beautiful! colors are great, very bright, almost too bright, and no ghosting at all. played some BF2 and Warcraft 3 and both looked phenomenal. only problem is that this one i picked up has somewhere in the range of 30-40 dead or stuck pixels and there's some backlight bleeding at the top. but i'd have to say with it being that bad that it got thrown around on one of our freight trucks or in the warehouse. so i'm taking it back into work today to exchange it.

All in all though, top notch. Just what I'd expect from Samsung.
