Well, I am on the market for a nice LCD display and this one caught my eye. My budget is no more than 500, and on sale this one fits the bill. However, for what I plan to use it for I am not sure if this is the best choice. The monitor will mostly be used to play games, watch movies, and of course general word usage etc.

So, I guess my question is if anyone thinks there is a better 19"+ lcd monitor that suits my needs better while costing no more than $500. Flat screen or not.
I honestly think the kicker is the ability to play video well. Many of the low response time monitors such as the Hyundia l90d+ are great for games, but are not the best for video usage.

Input if appreciated, I know nothing about LCDs and my constant searches have come up pretty much empty.

Thanks for the help!

I am working on the 2005fpw and havent looked back to the CRT. It took me up to this point to get one for personal use. When I do CAD drawings at work, its not the same anymore. As far as gaming, I prefer FPS shooters and flight simulators. In both areas I was impressed with the results. The resolutions scale very well, and 1024x768, for example, looks exceptionally good. BF2 looks unbelievably with HIGH setting at 1680x1050, so does fs2004. To get a taste for it, head over to a local store that carries the same size Apple screens. They are basically same thing as far as hardware, with exception of PictureInPicture, 3 video inputs and a 4-port USB2 hub built in on the Dell. IMO, get it, you will want another after. Look around for coupons from Dell, I used one from www.slickdeals.net (http://slickdeals.net/#p6331) and got mine cheap.

Wow, thanks for the link. I will most likely be ordering this tomarrow, especially at that price. Its time I treat myself to something nice, and that certainly fits the bill.

Thanks for the thoughts and the link!

I have a 2005FPW and love it. I have played FarCry and Half Life2 with zero problems. DVD movies look awesome. When I'm working on projects, I like being able to have 2 windows open side by side at the same time with very little overlap (if you adjust 'em a little). Only one problem, now my wife wants one too. Hehehe, I told her she has to wait until I get a 2405FPW before she can have my 2005FPW.
