Just got this via UPS today and tried to hook it up before work. When I turn it on I think I go to option 2 on the monitor which is DVI. I have it hooked up VGA but I can do DVI as well. Anyway the Colored box just floats around the screen saying something about self test and never shows an image. Ive tried option 1-4 and no luck :bang head I tried it on 2 PCs, one with a 5200FX and another with 9800Pro. I only got to test it for like 20 mins but couldnt get a desktop picture. Any Suggestions?

Have you plugged in the DVI-D connector selected the "2" input and then restarted the system? It sounds odd but upon hooking up mine it didn't show any video on the input I had hooked up to the system. I restarted and whala!

I have been told that DVI-D is two way and that may be what is causing the problem.

I just got mine this past Tuesday and I LOVE IT! @ $389 I couldn't go wrong!

Their shouldn't be a blur with such a low response time. Are you using the DVI-D connector or the VGA connection?

Hi, yes im using VGA but notice a heavy blur when moving around in games...I also did a monitor test showing 5 purple dead pixels. I've had this monitor since late december.

i cant notice any blur with the dvi or vga cable. try playing with vsnyc, antialiasing, and antistropic filtering turned off and see if that takes the sensation away

If you see dead pixels with purple that means you should also see them on red and blue screens.

Would their be a way of returning it? I got it from the dell site.

It would take a call to Dell support. There are been more issues with the 2005FPW than other monitors and Dell is aware of them and usually good about resolving the issues promptly.

A friend had a back lighting issue and was overnighted a new monitor before having to send the other back, advanced exchance, so he wasn't without a monitor. Give them a call, see what they will do. At worst you may have to talk to a manager to get approval to exchange it.

Good news is all the Dell LCD monitors come with a 3 year advanced exchange warranty.
