I've been looking at these, seeing I have about 450$ to spend on an LCD for my computer. Since I am a college kid, I like the idea of a LCD with a built in TV Tuner, but I'm worried about resolution using the computer. Anyone have some suggestions? Yes I know I can use a TV Tuner card, but I rather have the computer off and just have the LCD on.
I've been using a 13" LCD so anything I get will seem huge
Example is here

Ensure that the monitor is at least 1024x768 with an RGB plug.
At 1280X1024 the Synchmaster is the clear choice here; the other models are only 800x600; totally inadequate.

Ever thought about something like: http://www.viewsonic.com/products/tventertainment/tvvideoprocessors/nextvisionn4/ ?
Then you can just move it to a different screen later. The step up (NextVision N5) supports 1280x1024 output, which might be a better choice if you're running a 17" or 19" screen.

That's only 640x480. You want something with a VGA or DVI input.

I already have a TV Tuner. I really want something that I can use as a TV/Monitor in one. I just wish that viewsonic had normal inputs. That is right in my price range, but I see no way to connect it.

how about this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824116349&ATT=Monitors+LCD+TV&CMP=OTC-d3alt1me
little smaller than I like, and its a tad bit more expensive, but what do you think?
It's not a TV tuner that connects to your computer.
It plugs into the middle of your VGA cable. When you're using the computer it passes through your VGA signal to the monitor. When you turn off your computer it feeds a TV signal to your monitor. Or your can do PIP if you want. But you can watch TV (plus a DVD or whatever) without having your computer on.

guess I should have read closer, so this means, the the computer doesn't need to be on, but I can still use it as a TV?

have you used it personally or know anyone that has, what I am worried about is poor TV picture quality
No, I havn't used one. I've read a few reviews that say the quality is pretty good, but I don't have any personal experience.
I'm looking at the 30" Viewsonic LCD TV myself.
That's 17" Viewsonic looks nice for your price range.
