View Full Version : Frame per Sec Related Question
Im looking at an LCD MOnitor this time around, i have never had LCD before, (this is not a another "help me pick another thread btw" btw lol) , and i was looking at the Hyudai L90D, but i have a question on LCD in general does it put a cap in how how many frames per second? for example les say i get 110 frams per second (not really, but just for example) in doom 3 would the LCD put a cap on it at a certain amount b/c of refreash rate or something?

well doom 3 has a 60fps cap no matter what, but that monitor can do a 75hrz refreshrate (aka 75 fps) so your videocard may still be putting out 110 fps but only 75 can be displayed (in games other than doom 3) so i would recomend putting the v-sync option on in ur video card settings, that will cap your fps at 75 no matter what

the hyundai only does 60hz with dvi. 75hz with vga.
i found that to be the biggest downer with the monitor. 60fps cap sucks.
the new viewsonic 4ms lcds display 85hz in dvi.
yeah i am considering waiting for the viewsonic
