How do you find the native resolution of a lappy LCD? My thought was...go into settings and crank up the screen resolution. Would the highest setting be the native resolution?
I'm pretty sure that would work since I have yet to see an LCD yet that goes higher than it's native res. You could also try googling for the LCD (or, if it's a laptop, the laptop) and seeing if you can find any specifications.

If Windows recognizes the correct driver for your LCD, then cranking the Resolution in the display properties will work fine. If it is recognized as a generic driver (Plug & Play Monitor or just plain LCD) then it will be limited by whatever the highest resolution your video hardware can handle.
