Difficult display decision =|

Hey all. I posted some months back looking into 17" lcds. everyone told me to look at the Sammy 710T which is now discontinued over the 172X. I got to take a look at both side by side and see why, but i didnt have money so.. it didnt matter..

well now, i have money. and want to get myself a nice new display and have a pretty perplexing choice..

Im just using a cheap 753 df right now that has served me nicely for about 2 years.
I want to run two displays so i will either buy one really nice 19" and use my 753 for a tools monitor, or two decent 17" and give the 753 to my mum.

so yea.. i was looking over at ncix and they have the new 915N which rates 8ms refresh, 700:1 contrast ratio and 300cd/m2 which.. is damn nice for a 19".
Thats $600..
they also have a few open box 710N's which are pretty good. 12 ms, 600:1 and the same brightness.

I play some light games... like mmorpg's and the occasional game of cs:source and nfsu2. but mostly, i do graphic design and dvd playback. is the 8 ms that much better than the 12ms? they are rated at the same resolution too. I run 1024x768@85hz.. i have never owned an lcd before so im not sure if they will kill my eyes at that native resolution and whatever refresh that is at. do they even refresh the same way?

well. i can get either for the sam price really. im kinda worried about dead pixels on the open box specials but for like $50 less... seems like a decent bet if there is at most like.. 2 dead.

bleh. i dunno. kinda chomping to get that 19" but bleh.

Since you don't game too much but do the graphic design and other things you might want to look into the 2005FPW and 2405FPW. Both are widescreen monitors that are 20" and 24". The upper 2405FPW might be out of your price range but you mentioned $600 which the 2005FPW falls into. Might consider checking those out people play HL2 on that monitor and love it.

well. i should have mentioned that im canadian ha ha. so a 20" widescreen would cost about.. $800 up here. thats just too much <_< but i think i will go take a look at the models you suggested never the less. If i get down to buying two, i might just take out a loan or somthing and get some really nice monitors that will last some years.
and its not like i dont game, there are just not a lot of games out there that iw anna play. Cant wait for halo2 pc though... thats gonna be sweeeeeet.
