hey there folks. im new too lcd monitors so im gonna ask a few questions. first of all, are they easier on the eyes? secondly, what should i be looking for in a good gaming LCD?

i've been looking into some samsung monitors. which models are best for them? btw, 19" is the size im looking for here. thanks.

Yes they're easier on your eyes because the image isn't redrawn every time....one thing that gets people is the brightness. I just got a 2005FPW and it was too bright so I turned it down to about 80%.
For 19" LCD's the monitor to get is the Hyundai L90D...however you might want to consider the dell 2005FPW like I have. It's a widescreen (16:10 instead of 4:3) and there is a forum dedicated to wide screen gaming which shows you how to make older games playable at the widescreen resolutions, and newer games are coming with the support built right in (HL2 for example lets you simply see more horizontally than you would normaly!).
There's also a deal (checkout cyber deals and follow the link) to get it for around 500.
If you want to stick with 19 though pretty much everyone will second the L90D
