Hi folks, looks like these threads are becoming quite common these days as the price gap between CRTs and LCDs draw closer--- as well as the quality, so it's time for me to investigate.

My CRT for the past 3 years, a LG Flatron 915ft, has been showing signs of a comming death so I thought I'd prepare and pick up a new one. I've learned that the Gaming quality of newer LCDs has greatly improved since I owned a crapper of a Gateway LCD about 4 years ago.

So, I'm debating between these two:

CRT:

LCD:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1179159&CatId=170

Of coarse, as with most electronics I look into, I haven't been able to find much valid information on either screen. The Sceptre looks almost too good to be true, although I've read some nice things about it on these forums. The most important thing to me is a. ghosting, and lack there of, and
b. compatability. I recently invested in a GeForce 6800Ultra, which has 2 DVI outputs. I figure it might be nice to get a LCD which could take advantage of that function.

Any opinions?

I'd forget that Sceptre, and look into the Hyundai L90D+. I'm sure a lot of people will tell you the same thing. Same price, but better specs (and looks!). I'll be getting mine Friday. Just look around the forum: people are absolutely raving about that panel.

not only that but tiger direct is notorious for not honoring thier rebates. The hyundai can be had for 380 shipped no rebate no hassle from reputable dealers.

Okay, that's the first CRT that I've ever seen with blinders on it...
how does she run in the mud?

yeah, get the L90D+, what more do you want me to say?

if you got to get a CRT then look into this....http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=24-002-037&DEPA=0
you'll want that "SuperBright Diamondtron Totally-Flat Aperture Grille CRT".

hm, that CRT looks suspiciously like my mitshubishi screen. anyways, i would avoid either of those 2 monitors. Go with the hyundai as advised, or get a CRT with a diamondtron or trinitron tube.

I ended up, after much deliberation, going with the Hyundai. It seems to have a good track record, and 8ms can't be beat....
I also went ahead and order a new processor-- not I can really see what this 6800 can do... thanks for the help folks!

Hyundai L90D+ is a winner, although I don't think it has two dvi ports? www.tomshardware.com just had an article on it. The review was VERY detailed.
