I was going to get an LCD, but decided to save some money and get a nice CRT. I like to game also and have plenty of room for a CRT, so that's what I'm going with.
I like what I've read about this monitor, but are there any better ones in the same price range? I'd like it to be black... Any other opinions are welcome :)
Thanks!

Heh, don't tell me I'm the only one still looking for a CRT? :D :D :D
Come on guys, give me some advice :)
I have the FE990. It seems that they should be pretty similar. It's a pretty good crt. I used to use it as my primary display until it got replaced by a lcd screen and became my secondary display. One thing you may need to becareful about is the cable. On mine, the cable is directly attached to the crt, so any bent pins = very bad.
Personally, I wouldn't buy crt's anymore. I would just get LCDs.

I hear what you're saying about getting an LCD, but I'd have to spend 3x as much as a CRT to get a good gaming monitor. Doesn't seem worth it yet. Good to know about the FE990, thanks for the input!

a good gaming 19" LCD would run you about $380 (L90D+)
note that in LCDs, the size given is the viewable size, where as the NEC crt viewable is probably about 18"
my dad has the FE991 and I think its awesome, its big, not as easy on the eyes as an LCD can be but its by far the best 19" CRT i've seen.. its bright as anything (or can be) and the colors are so vibrant its rediculous.. beautiful
personally i'd go for the LCD due to size (smaller monitor but more viewable picture)

yeah the NEC MultiSync FE991 is one of the best.
also Samsung SyncMaster, Dell, Sony Trinitron, Viewsonic makes superb CRT monitors with 19" Display
Sorta hard to tell the graphics quality between the 5.
