Computer Output to 50" LCD

Ok, 9600 pro 128mb outputting to a Hitachi 50" LCD...Desktop and gaming both work fine and some video plays.. but I can't get some avi to play.. it plays in the computer but is just black on the tv. Help? :)

Hmm.... I have had this with my laptop plugged into a TV before. Cant remember exactly how I did it - but I just ended up with the TV displaying the same as was displayed on the monitor.

That's what it's doing right now...except for the window that is playing the video..that is black...but for some video it works.

Alternate click (right-click usually on desktop) - select "properties" - "setting" tab - "advanced" button - "overlay" tab - "theater mode options" - "overlay display mode" change to "theater mode"
