well with anything dust and dirt and mostly hair ..damn cats. it gets into everywere.

i dont got a clue why i didnt take a picture of it all..but heres the story

i was switching montiors from a older dell to a new dell 18 inch (old dell was a 15") anyways i saw a ton of dust on it..so i thought..i wonder whats in it.

since i know how to take apart moniors already..but never an older one. i took the 4 screws out and pulled the hood off.

there was dust on every wire and every part inside.. i took a can of dust off at it and now i got dust all over my floor. ..i always wonderd why it had a flicker to it ..and now theres no flicker.

much nicer inside and cleaner. going out to buy a brand new moitor next month ...going to do some mods on it.. maybe i will post here~.

who would of thought dust could make a monitor flicker a little (it was not the refresh rate too ..well .i am happy.. now i am off to buy a game.

Nice. My friend has a older 17" CRT that was flickering like crazy and he thought it just died. He has lots of cats too, I am going to pass this on to him and maybe he can have a 2nd monitor now :D.

i'd think twice about adding fans in a monitor ~~~ monitors are designed to cool by convection, which is why no monitor manufacturer installs fans to begin with

i thought the same thing ... about 6 months ago i opened up my ibm p70 trinitron preparing to clean out the dust and cat hairs (4 years worth), and to my surprise, nothing in there needed cleaning vs the every 3-4 months the dually needs to be opened and cleaned
