I set up a dual 17" Viewsonic monitor system for my dad using a single radeon 9600 card. When I first turned on both monitors back in July of '03 the one monitor took about 3 minutes to actually warm up. Meaning it was dark then got really fuzzy continuing VERY slowly to a sharp picture. I never have seen this before but thought it might be normal for new monitors. Well recently the color has been shifting more into the red spectrum. I have to keep setting the green and blue higher or the red lower to try to match the other screen. The color wasnt a huge problem but the screen has been making high pitched noises(not constant but on and off) and is getting progressively more blury. I looked at it for about 5 minutes tonight after I cleaned his computer out and got a headache. Personally I dont know how he stands it.

My question is: Is the monitor going bad? Is there anything I can do to try to fix it? Should I RMA it to newegg considering I bought their extra warrenty?

I would RMA it if it is under warrantee. I had a brand new monitor go out by making a high pitched whine. I noticed it within the first week. It gave me horrible headaches. I even tried to lower the temps on the colors, lowered the refresh rate and deguassed the screen.
Most monitors will make a inaudible noise, but we normally block it out, some people are more sensitive than others to this type of sound. I think it is hearing ranges.
Another reason could be cable signal interferance or video card. I would put my money on bad electronic components inside the monitor though.
