Dell 2001FP, 2005FPW,or Viewsonic VP201b For Gaming

I planning on buying a new LCD monitor for gaming,question out of these three monitor which one is the best for gaming?

IMO the 2005fp by far - widescreen loveliness :D

That is a difficult decision.

The 2005 looks sweet in widescreen mode, but some old games can be a pain to format to the screen, some just get stretched. However, most new games including HL2 and Doom3 and soon to be released games should be widescreen compatable. It also has problems with back lighting issues, so be prepared to return it for a replacement if you get a dud.

The 2001 actually has a bigger screen from what I've read (only slightly), but it's looking a little dated. Although it's still a great monitor.

The Viewsonic I know nothing about.

Well the viewsonic and Dell FP2001 have the same panel so you can just choose which one you like the looks/price of the most.

However if I were you I would go with the new FPW2005 since widescreen in games is just soooo cool. There has been issues with backlight leaking but hopefully it gets resolved soon.

I just recieved a FP2001 Dell and played a little unreal 2003 and see no ghosting at all. I guess there is a possibility that I can't see the ghosting but looks great to me. I was bit by the Dellf game and got it for $599 shipped so I could not pass it up. I would have got the VP201s/b if I didn't get the 25% off coupon from dell. From what I have read they are very similar. Good Luck Steve

I was undecided as to which flat panel to get until I played the dellf game.
After 38 tries I got the 25% off coupon and stacked it with a $30 off coupon for a total of $609 delivered. This is including sales tax (Ohio sux).
The 2001FP is REALLY nice for around $600.

Well I decided on the Dell 2005FPW and order the monitor, I wheeled and deal with the sale rep. and he gave me the monitor for 600.00 + tax so he gave me 25% off with out having any coupon.

well I just did the dellf game myself a few days ago and got a sweet deal on the 2005fpw so I jumped on it, I actually get the monitor tomorrow so I'll put it to the test with a few games I have and chime back in and give my verdict if I can :santa:

Well just got my 2005FPW today great monitor. what a big difference between analog and digital. Playing COD UO and Half Life 2 unbelievable what details :santa: .
