Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to get some detailed information about this motherboard.

MSI MS 6534 (Microstar?)

I am a little concerned about a few things before I overclock it. I know its not an Asus but its all I can afford at the moment.

I am running a 1.5GHz P4 and I would like to 'overclock it'

I have tried the Microstar site and various search criteria.....

Help!

Thanks

Glenn

This is a stable board.... But you want to overclock it? I suggest you go step by step. try overclocking to 1.6Ghz first. 1.7Ghz is what I think is a very good result for P4

As I say P4 is a bad overclocker

Thanks for that, i feel much better knowing someone knows a bit about that board and that is is stable.

My bios settings allow for overclocking (just!) but when I change them I get a warning on boot up and it sets itself back to the ''default'' setting. Is this somthing to do with the dip switches on the board being set at "do not alter via BIOS" position?

the bios is AWARD bios and It doesnt give me multipliers for the settings of the memory speed. Is this because it is a cr*p bios or will the multiplier for the ram go under some other obscure name? I can only see RAS/CAS settings.

Apparently my board supports SDRAM, does this mean it wont run RDRAM? how can I check my RAM speed using SANDRA

Thanks again for your help, sorry if ask to many questions.

Not really. approx 30% increases are possible with just about all intel chips released, including PIVs.
