My monitor stores my settings for screen position, size, ect digitally, instead of manual knobs. Now recently, every time I turn it off, all those settings are erased, and I have to reconfigure them. It didn't used to be like this. It used to store my settings. What could cause this? It is a nuisance to reconfigure my monitor every day.

I have a Mag 17" that I got from Best Buy a little more than a year ago. I have water cooling, and I use an AC pump. I don't get screen distortion on my destop from the pump magnet though. Also, I turn my monitor, and the power strip that it is plugged into off every night. My monitor loses its settings even when I leave the power strip on and just turn the monitor off.

I'm not sure how those settings are stored, but if I had to guess from what you are reporting I would say they are stored in some sort of volatile memory - probably stays powered by a battery when turned off, and if the battery goes, so does your settings.

I'll google and see if I find anything, but thats just the first thing that came to mind - sounds like having a bad bios battery. :)

I was thinking along the same lines Hmm. Looks like I'll be ripping apart a monitor. FUN! :D I love giant caps. Lol.

*Edit*
I dug in Google a little. I looks like I'll have to do an extensive search to find this one.
