I've noticed there was a few photographers here, so I thought this might interest some of you..

Nikon have announced the D2x today..

12.8MP baby @ 5FPS! :)
CMOS, not a CCD (handy for those longer exposures)
802.11B/G WiFi add-on :)
Meters with older MF and other non-CPU AI Nikkors in A & M mode.
iTTL Flash support

No news on a price yet, but I'm guessing at least 4500 bucks, unless the D1x & D2h take a huge price drop.

ouch 4500! glad i got my digital rebel for $1000 @ 6mp and it was the top end camera in it's range and still kicks the arse of most of the 8mp cameras out their!

Well, the D2x is a professional camera. Nikon's top-of-the-line.

You don't get these kinds of specs in an Amateur camera. My D100 is starting to feel vastly inferior now that this and the 20D have been announced. Well, more inferior than the D1x and D2h already made it feel ;)

I just read that the D2x has GPS support too. Hook up your lil GPS doohicky, it records the location of where you're at right there into the EXIF info.

I think I'm going to be holding off getting the 70-200VR and put that money towards buying a D2x.
