my initial windows install went pretty good in a non raid array...took some benchies and decided to try raid 0...whoa nellie...bios on this new mobo was a pain, i tried to set the bios to boot from the hard drives while they were in a raid array, but for some reason, it would not work...i would get as far as installing windows ME ( have XP Pro upgrade ) and upon the first restart, i would get an error saying that kernal386.exe could not be loaded/denied permission..i went through a few of those with different bios settings to no avail...then i decided to forget the raid for now, i just wanted an operational computer..i tried to install windows and couldn't..back in the bios, made some changes and tried it again...for some reason, probably human error, i couldnt get it right....i was about to wrap it up and take the whole package back...i made one last bios tweak and was finally able to install windows xp....now i have windows built up to where i like it and i like the bench numbers without overclocking, yet

take extra caution when installing an LGA 775 cpu....those pins in the socket are very very fragile...the manual suggests a maximum of 20 install/reinstall cycles
