I'm looking to get this MSI 915P Combo-FR http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=915P_Combo-FR&class=mb but I'm not sure which memory it supports DDR2 or just DDR cause DDR2 is quite spendy right now but if price goes down in the future maybe I could add it, btw I'll be using P4 3.4GHz,

p.s. is this good pick I was strugglin between asus and msi

Okay, back on topic. I won't answer the DDR-DDR2 question b/c the other guy already did... I'll just move on to my opinion of it.

It looks to be a fairly nice board, there's only a few things that I can think about that you might want to consider.

1) It's supports 2 DIMMs of DDR or 2 DIMMS of DDR2 not a combination of both, so you're going to be limited to how much you can upgrade your memory.... if you upgrade to DDR2, you won't be able to use your DDR anymore.

2) There isn't an AGP slot, so you'd have to buy a PCI-x graphics card ..... that might not be a problem if you haven't built this computer yet, but just thought I'd mention it.

3) You have to buy a Socket 775 processor to go with this mobo.... again, if you aren't upgrading from a previous computer and are just building a new one, this isn't much of a problem. A little more expensive b/c of all the new components that you have to buy though.

Other than that, I think it's a nice board.... SATA RAID, 3 PCI-x slots ( 1 16x, 2 1x).

If you want to get DDR2, you might consider getting a board that is DDR2 specific so you can buy more ram later if you want.

Good luck on your build :)
