View Full Version : Does AG8 support DDR?
This page (http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/techspec.php?categories=1&model=200) shows AG8 support DDR2 but doesn't mention whether it support DDR.
Does it mean that AG8 doesn't support DDR? Anyone knows?

This (http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/) page is the one to go off I think. All their boards just support DDR. I don't believe anyone has released a DDR2 board yet.
These (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-127-182&depa=0) specs don't mention it either.
The Abit AA8 (i925 chipset) will be DDR2 only. The AG8 (i915 chipset) is regular DDR.
Just dowoloaded the manual (ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/download/manual/english/ag8.pdf) of AG8 from Abit's global (http://www2.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=AG8&fMTYPE=LGA775&pPRODINFO=Manual) site.
From the manual (page 1-1), the onboard audio is 6-channel only.
I thought 915P's onboard audio should be Intel High Definition Audio (Azalia 7.1).
Azalia and PCI-Express are the only reasons for me to consider the new chipset. Without azalia, I would go back to AI7. :(
