View Full Version : Network Setup
I'm trying to set up a home network and i'm using MSI's PC to PC(USB). I can acces files through both computers, but I can't log on the internet or use my printer. Can someone give me a hand?? I think all my settings are right. I am using a cable modem if that helps any.

I'm not familliar with USB networking, but make sure you have TCP/IP installed for that network device.

you have any sort of internet connection software set up? You need something like Proxy from AnalogX, ICS, or some other proxy type program.

USB never really was meant for networking. I'd recommend spending about $30 or so for a cheap pair of 10/100 network interface cards (NICs). Get those, a cat5 cable, a connector and a crossover cable and it's easy as pi to set up.
If you want the internet on both computers (duh) then get a router with a built in switch. I got a D-Link for less than $100 from amazon.com and it was easy to install and this way either (or both) computers can access the internet at any time, even if one machine is turned off.
