I am in the process of buying new parts and building up a new pc from scratch.

Now I know the answer to this but some idiot put a doubt in my mind.

I am planning on using my Dell monitor instead of buying a new monitor.

Dell monitors work with any pc dont they. they aint exclusively Dell.

I am right, aren't I?

As above, they sure do. I've used nothing but refurb Dell monitors on my PC. I think they are great quality and i can pick them up at bargain prices. They are usually either Sony Trinitrons or Philips monitors just rebadged thats all.
I even got the black Dell keyboard with my black Dell Trinitron and they both work fine. Dell stuff seems to be of a very high quality thou i'd never actually buy a Dell PC :D

Hey yah. I rock a 17" Black Dell Monitor on my custom made system and I LOVE it. Very good monitors and I'm pretty sure I'll pick another one up some day. Mine is based off a Philips, I'm pretty sure. But really, all monitors are supported on any PC, cept if it's a Mac monitor, which you can buy a PC adapter. but pretty much all Monitors are PC ones, unless noted otherwise.
